Infinity reaches new heights

The Infinity Sleep Support System continues to grow in popularity, with customers across the world choosing this system for its outstanding savings on steel, as well as its higher coil count and taller units.

The MPT Group now offers two unit height options with the Infinity System, taking spring heights up to 7.5”. The increase in unit height is achieved with technically-advanced coil design, and means producers can avoid the need to apply extra fillings to achieve increased mattress depths.

The latest Infinity System has been snapped up by a Brazilian mattress producer. MD Andrew Trickett explained: “We're delighted with the success of the Infinity System and this latest order is an impressive achievement that the team here at MPT should be very proud of. It means we've another member to the Infinity family and begun to establish a new export market.

This order also means that the company has sold more than 50 machines since its launch in 2009. As one of our best-selling systems, Infinity will take a large proportion of our stand at Interzum, Germany in May 2013.”

Interzum 2013 is on the way

Don’t forget the World’s largest dedicated exhibition for the bedding industry will be held in Germany on 13th May, 2013.

Interzum will see The MPT Group take two stands in order to present its largest ever range of products at the show. The stand will showcase machinery covering every stage of the mattress manufacturing process over 300 sq meters.

Don't miss this exciting opportunity to keep your business up-to-date with the very latest innovations from MPT, such as new tape edge lines, border quilting solutions and the best-selling Infinity Sleep Support System.

Efficient performance all wrapped up!

MPT Group is officially unveiling its new, fully automatic mattress wrapping system at this year's Bed Show. The SwiftWrap will be one of the main features at the Group's stand at The Telford International Centre on September 25-26.

Capable of wrapping up to three mattresses per minute, the high-speed SwiftWrap offers undeniable benefits for mattress producers. It can work as a stand-alone machine, or as part of a modular conveyor system thanks to automated product sizing and centralising. This gives businesses the potential for even greater efficiency.

MPT Group MD Andrew Trickett explains: “We anticipate that the fully-automated SwiftWrap will be a big hit with our customers. Its impressive speeds mean that it can meet the needs of even the most demanding mattress producers.

“However, the packaging process is not just fast, it is also of an extremely high quality. A side compression system ensures that every mattress is wrapped tightly with no excess film, which reduces the chance of the bag tearing during handling.

“Here at MPT Group we are looking forward to unveiling SwiftWrap at The Bed Show where we can showcase its key features to industry professionals: high-speed wrapping, automatic product sizing and centralising, waste collection and temperature-controlled sealing, to name just a few of its main advantages.”

Only in its third year, The Bed Show attracts a large number of visitors and is a an undisputed high point in the industry calendar. Last year's event saw more than 60 exhibitors featured.

Alongside the SwiftWrap launch, visitors to the MPT Group stand will be able to find out more about the huge range of mattress production solutions offered by the company.

MPT Group manufactures more than 30 machines, covering all stages of mattress production, under the brands Matramatic, Fanghanel, Dimegrove and more recently the revolutionary Infinity Sleep Support System™ with its 45%-plus reduction in unit material costs.

Are steel prices stealing your mattress profits?

Did you come into this industry to sell beds or to buy steel? The answer may seem obvious but with global steel prices spiraling ever upward, the material cost of a mattress spring unit is becoming a pivotal factor in the pricing of a finished item. This would be problem enough in any manufacturing sector but can be absolutely critical in such a price-driven arena as mattresses.

Steel rod prices have risen by almost 50% globally in just 5 years, driven largely by countries like China growing ever more hungry for raw materials, and the talk at the ISPA show in Indianapolis was that another $15/tonne hike can be expected very soon. Whether that happens or not, it is clear that prices are very unlikely to be coming down in the foreseeable future.

One obvious solution is to use less steel but that is easier said than done with conventional machinery without sacrificing unit firmness. Some manufacturers are now overcoming the problem with the Infinity Sleep Support System ™. This is a spring unit manufacturing system from British-based MPT Group, boasting over 45% savings in steel use as well as a 150% higher coil count and a 25% taller unit. The Infinity name can also be also licensed to manufacturers and is supported by a range of POS material, enabling them and their retailer customers to market the brand to the consumer.

The benefits of the patented system go beyond economic, as MPT Group MD Andrew Trickett explained:

“When one tonne of steel wire creates 1.25 tonnes of CO2 in manufacturing, there is also a very strong environmental benefit to Infinity.

“More and more consumers in most parts of the world are now factoring green credentials into their choice of purchase, especially when there is no visible price premium to distract them.”

The Infinity system is only one of more than 30 machines from the MPT Group covering every stage of mattress production. The manufacturer is backing Infinity to the extent that it will occupy around half the group’s space at Interzum Cologne in May 2013.

Among the first manufacturers to go over to Infinity are Vitafoam PLC Nigeria, Restonic and Spring Air in Mexico.
